All external play areas should have an annual assessment to check play areas and equipment, this should be documented and held on file by each school. The report needs to be compiled by a RPII qualified inspector. To fulfil your Health and Safety requirements we can offer the following services.
An inspection that will include photographs of each site and each item of equipment. For each site we will inspect the perimeter fencing, gates, assuming it is an enclosed site, ancillary equipment (benches, litter bins etc.) equipment and also surfacing.
Our reports are predominantly concerned with the overall safety of the equipment and the area and this is the main emphasis of the reports. We will report if the item of equipment complies with the current standard and if not provide notes of any failures to BS EN 1176.
We will report all failures where the surfacing area does not meet the requirements of BS EN 1176.
As standard you will receive a report in excel format that has auto filters applied so that you can instantly see where the highest risk scores are without having to sift through the report.
You will also receive another report in excel format detailing all of your stock (assets) of playground equipment.
Risk assessments included for every item of equipment and every defect noted on the report.
Every item of equipment and every defect will be photographed.
A list of equipment failures/defects identified by item of equipment and site with a recommended course of action.
Basic suitability assessments included on all of the reports.
